I don’t do wrapup posts much, so tags like this which kinda give me the chance to talk about how my reading year is going are fun and I’m so excited to post this. If you want to check out the originator for this tag, check out Rosin’s page (Roisin’s Reading from BookTube).
I had a lot of fun doing this tag the first time last year, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to do it again this year because I’ve not been very regular in reading or blogging these days. But March has been somewhat good for me, so I wanted to share my thoughts with you all. As this year goes by, I’ll definitely get even more irregular on the blog but I hope I will be able to not give it up completely.
How many books have you read so far?
I’ve read 26 and even though I reduced my goal this year to 100, I have a feeling it might be difficult to get there by the end of 2023.
Have you already found a book you think might be a 2022 favourite?
This is such a tough question because I have honestly found many amazing books in just these three months and I could hardly choose.
I’m not usually one to read Booker Prize winners but The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida really blew me away with the seamless way the author integrated Sri Lanka’s fraught history with surpernatural elements.
If not what was your favourite book you read that wasn’t quite five star?

These three books – The Last Tale of the Flower Bride, Weyward and Heart of the Sun Warrior – are others which mesmerized me with their beautiful words and even more brilliant female characters, but fell slightly short of 5 stars.
Any 1 star books / least favourite book of the year?
Not really. I do have a couple of 3 or 3.5 stars but nothing I really hated.
Most read genre so far?
By far my most read genre is fantasy with atleast about 33% of my total reading, very closely followed by nonfiction which is about 29% my reading.
A book that surprised you?
Pussypedia is an upcoming book that was sent to me by the publisher after I requested it on a whim. But was just amazed by the contents in it. It’s a very good beginning primer to get to know basic information about this important part of the body, while also being very inclusive, and providing a list of many more comprehensive resources on the subject.
Book that’s come out in 2023 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

I have actually not read most of the books on my 2023 release TBR because I’ve been very slow this year. But apparently my mood is currently blue, so these are three books I really wanna read soon.
One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?
I don’t know if I’m succeeding at anything. I think I should amend my goals and keep just one focus for this year, just read what I want to and as much as I can. I don’t know what more changes my pregnancy and then childbirth later this year will bring to my life, but I can only hope reading and blogging will still be a part of me always.
And that’s it for my answers of this super fun tag…!!!! If you like this one, do feel free to post it on your blog too and don’t forget to link back to me so that I can read all your lovely answers… And let’s meet sooner rather than later with another interesting tag.
This is a fun tag, it reminds me of the “mid year” tag I usually do. I love seeing Weyward on your list!

I know!!! I love the mid year tag, so this also seemed like a good one to wrap the first quarter.. And Weyward was really impressive…
